The acquisition of Status Medical Aid Administrators and QA Care Plus by Universal Healthcare, which administers a number of open and restricted medical schemes, has created a new organisation aiming to provide more people with meaningful healthcare cover. The group was established to deliver healthcare that combines business intelligence with excellence in healthcare management.

Healthcare providers contracted to Universal Network, are the designated service providers on the Networx option of CompCare Wellness Medical Scheme, an open scheme which was established in the 1970s. Universal Healthcare being mindful of the affordable section in the market, partnered with CompCare to develop the Networx option, a low cost healthcare plan that offers exceptional value, aimed squarely at the corporate and formalised labour market and is particularly sensitive to first time medical scheme members.

By joining the Universal Network, a healthcare provider can grow his or her practice and participate in a growing and exciting initiative to make private healthcare accessible to more people.

Prospective healthcare providers have to complete the application form and network agreement. The Universal Network division will assist with the accreditation and signing up process.
